President Mnangagwa has been hailed for his continued interaction with the grassroots and he has been described as a humble and considerate leader.
People who spoke to this publication said that President Mnangagwa had a humility that cannot be matched as he chose to sit on the bare earth last Saturday when he attended the African Apostolic Church (AAC) Ndarikure Tabernacle in Chirumhanzu.
Sylvia Dotoro applauded President Mnangagwa for sparing time to congregate and worship with others.
“I’m surprised by the humility of President Mnangagwa. He attended service at the African Apostolic Church and declined to sit on the chair opting to sit on the ground with the rest of the congregants. To have a humble leader like him is surely a blessing for the country of Zimbabwe,” said Dotoro.
Gilbert Chingosho added that President Mnangagwa knows that he was one and the same with his fellow countrymen and that’s the reason he always find time to worship with these people.
“It’s not only the AAC that the President has visited. He has been to Zion Christian Church, to United Family International Church of Prophet Makandiwa and many other churches. This shows that we have a President who values his people and who wants to interact and share ideas with them,” added Chingosho.
Writing on Twitter last Saturday, one Paidamoyo Mutsvairo wrote, "Nyika ikava neMutungamiri anoziva Mwari, inokomborerwa zvikuru!!"
Meanwhile, speaking at the weekend at AAC in Chirumhanzu, President Mnangagwa castigated fighting and emphasized the need for peace and unity for the nation to develop.
“We must unite knowing that the Lord did not avail a nation for us to suffer, he is a God who has prepared only nice things for us. As a church, we must teach the values of unity. Let us not go to other countries and be cry-babies, we will turn ourselves into a laughing stock. What we forget is that for a nation to be developed, there is a need for its people to build it, of which we are there, land is also required, which we have and also God whom we all know is there for us," said the President.
The President further hailed the church as a key component for nation building and he emphasized the Second Republic's mantra of a nation being built by its owners, saying if a nation unites, there will not be room for failure.
