President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed Dr Beaular Chirume as the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Information, Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services.
In a press statement yesterday, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda said, “His Excellency the President has, in terms of Section 205(1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe of No. 20 of 2013 as amended, approved the appointment of Dr. Beaullar Chirume as the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services.”
Dr Sibanda said that Dr Chirume takes over following the retirement of Dr Engineer Samuel Kundishora on 31 December, 2021.
Dr Chirume is a holder of a Higher National Diploma in Systems Analysis and Design, a National Diploma in Business Computer Programming and a National Diploma in Information Processing. He also holds a Master`s Degree in Business Management and a PHD in Information Communication Technolgy and Multimedia Studies.
Dr Sibanda said that Dr Chirume joined Government as a Systems Analyst and Computer Programmer adding that she was later promoted to the post of Deputy Director, Operations and to the post of Director, ICT Applications Development and Management.
Dr Chirume was promoted to the post of Chief Director, ICT Infrastructure and Applications Development and Management in the Ministry of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services.
“Dr Chirume`s technical training and experience is well aligned to the imperatives to facilitate the digitalization of the administration and management of Government at all levels across all sectors as the nation journeys towards becoming an upper middle-income and knowledge-based economy and society.
“The appointment of Dr Beaullar Chirume is with immediate effect,” said Dr Sibanda.
