President Emmerson Mnangagwa has sworn in the new Acting Prosecutor General, Kumbirai Hodzi at State House today.
This follows the suspension of Prosecutor General, Advocate Ray Goba on allegations of misconduct and failing to make prosecution where is it due including abuse of office.
During his swearing in ceremony, acting (PG) Hodzi swore to support the President in his thrust for a new Zimbabwe that has a zero tolerance for corruption.
“Iam committed to upholding the constitution through curbing corruption and other malpractice by prosecuting those found wanting,” said (PG) Hodzi.
Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Ziyambi Ziyambi reiterated to the setting up of a tribunal to look into the allegations of misconduct by Adv Goba.
“A tribunal has already been set up to complete the investigations into the allegations of misconduct and abuse of office by Advocate Goba. The investigations are expected to be completed in four months,” said Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi.
