The MDC Alliance Bulawayo provincial spokesperson Swirthern Chiroodza was described by another provincial member as divisive and not fit to hold any office within that party.
In an interview with this publication over the weekend, Bulawayo provincial executive member Summer Dube, said Chiroodza was an enemy of the MDC Alliance as he was using much energy in fighting fellow members of the party.
“I’m much disappointed by some our elected provincial members such as Chiroodza. They have been elected to serve the province and not to tarnish and back-bite us as the electorate. I remember losing my wallet at Stanley Square fighting to see our team win. Amongst the team, someone is fighting me to the core. I will never be pushed or lose focus because Chiroodza is fighting me,” fumed Dube.
Dube added that Chiroodza was too manipulative and divisive and said many people have lost direction because of him.
“Chiroodza is too manipulative and more people have lost direction because of him. I feel pity for my sister Tsepiso (Helen Zivira). She is being dragged into political oblivion by the toxic politics of Chiroodza,” Dube said.
Dube accused Chiroodza of being divisive and said he had not done much to the party except leaking sensitive information to the media and creating factions within the province. He added that Chiroodza’s behavior was harmful to the MDC Alliance brand and said he should be expelled from the party.
“Chiroodza is divisive. As the spokesperson, he was supposed to be speaking words that unite and heal the party. But he is doing the opposite. He is leaking sensitive party information to the media and is creating factions within the province. He is actually a mole from within as his conduct does not match that of dedicated party cadre,” added Dube.
Currently Bulawayo province is embroiled in factional fights pitting Thabitha Khumalo and Welshaman Ncube as the duo is battling for the control of the province. Chiroodza is a key member of the Khumalo faction and is said to be terrorizing anyone opposed to him.
