The Youth Desk in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries and Rural Resettlement has been rewarded for its outstanding work in coordinating Government programmes to ensure the success of Vision 2030 as well as the National Development Strategy Phase One.
In a letter written to the Chief Programmes Coordinator in the Ministry, Nickros Kajengo, by webcasting Legacy TV Chief Editor, Pardon Mangwende, the Youth Desk has been nominated as the most effective youth desk in Government.
“Iam pleased to advise you that you have been nominated for the most effective youth desk in Government award, recognizing the most effective hard working youth Desk that has impacted lives of the most youths since the establishment of the Youth Desk in the Second Republic, during the inaugural Legacy TV awards to be held at the ZANU PF Headquarters on the 14th of May 2021,” wrote Mangwende to Kajengo.
Kajengo, who spoke to this publication from Chipinge where he is leading a team from the Ministry in the training of farmers on good agricultural practices, said he was humbled by the nomination which he said showed that the works of the Youth Desk was being recognized by other stakeholders.
“Iam humbled to be nominated for such an award. It shows that the work we are doing as a Youth Desk is being recognized and appreciated by other stakeholders. Our job as the Youth Desk is to ensure that President Mnangagwa’s development programmes are coordinated and thoroughly managed to improve the lives of people,” said Kajengo.
Kajengo urged other Youth Desks in other Ministries to work hard and ensure that President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030 of attaining an Upper Middle Income Economy Status is achieved.
“As the Youth Desks in the Ministries, we are the foot soldiers of President Mnangagwa. Our task is to run with the President’s Vision to ensure that the country develops to the satisfaction of the citizens. I therefore urge other Youth Desks in the Ministries to work hard and start making a difference in their respective Ministries,” added Kajengo.
Recently, Gutu South legislator Pupurai Togarepi hailed the Youth Desk in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries and Rural Resettlement for being the most visible youth desk among all Government Ministries.
