The New Dispensation is still committed to building schools and ensuring that children get quality education that will help in the development of the country.

Speaking to this publication at Chinyu Primary School in Mwenezi recently, Mwenezi West legislator, Honourable Priscilla Moyo, said she has a vision of seeing schools in her constituency being transformed into better schools.

“Education is the key to a successful country and im working hard to ensure that our schools are upgraded to standard education facilities that would offer quality education. Im working with the community to build more blocks so that the children will have adequate learning space,” said Honourable Moyo.

Cde Moyo explained how she transformed Chinyu Primary School from a facility with only one block to a big school with many classrooms.

“Chinyu Primary School is one example of our success stories in this constituency. The school had only one block but we have managed to construct other blocks and furnished them. My vision is to have well-furnished schools that will offer a comfortable learning environment to pupils. We are now targeting to construct a secondary school nearby so that the children will not travel long distance to school,” added Cde Moyo.

Chinyu Primary School acting headmistress, Mrs Precious Zivanai, thanked Honourable Moyo for donating school furniture and building materials to the school.

“I want to thank Honourable Moyo for the assistance she is rendering to schools in this constituency. As you can see, there is a new block being constructed and we are getting the building material from Honourable Moyo. I also want to thank her for the furniture she has donated to our school. Children used to sit on the floor but through the donation we got from her, the children now has somewhere to sit and write on,” said Zivanai.

Cde Moyo is closely working with the Mwenezi West community to positively transform the lives of the people in line with the Government’s National Development Strategy One.
