Chamisa`s 57th Africa Day Celebrations speech condemned

Citizens across the country have lambasted MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa for attacking African leadership on the 57th Africa Day celebrations saying that the opposition leader is working in cohorts with Africa`s former colonisers to fulfil, a regime change agenda.

ZANU PF Acting National Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs, Tendai Chirau said Chamisa was politicizing the Africa Day which is supposed to be celebrated by every African including him for the liberation that all Africans gained after suffering for many years in the hands of the Western colonizers.

Chirau said the ZANU PF Youth League joined the rest of Africa in celebrating Africa`s rule and appreciate African leaders for their efforts in turning around the African fortunes.

“As the ZANU PF Youth League, we affirm the symbolic value of the 25th of May as an important day in Africa and on the African Union calendar, and re-dedicate ourselves to the ideal of shared freedom and a united, independent and strong Africa characterized by inclusive and sustainable development

“We therefore join the rest of Africa and all Africans in the diaspora in celebrating African Union (AU) formed in 1963 through the unselfish and heroic efforts of visionaries such as Dr Kwame Nkrumah (Ghana), His Imperial Majesty Halle Selassie (Ethiopia), Ndugu Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere (Tanzania), General Gamal Abdel Nasser (Egypt), Dr Kenneth Kaunda (Zambia),with the practical support of cadres such as Amilcar Cabral and Ernesto Che Guevara, to mention but a few,” said Chirau.

Chirau said that unlike Chamisa who was always castigating African leaders so as to please Africa`s former colonisers, the ZANU PF Youth League would continue to support African member states and would remain committed to the African Union aspirations of an inclusive, people driven development.

“As young revolutionaries, we remain committed to the African Union aspirations of an inclusive people-driven development relying on the potential of African people, especially its women and youth. His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa`s Vision 2030, along with the African Union`s Agenda 2063 and all relevant Sustainable Development Goals, aptly prefigures a truly emancipated society, but whose realisation requires joined hands, hearts and minds,” said Chirau.

Another political analyst, Henry Mukurazhizha said that Chamisa’s speech is Eurocentric and no one in his rightful mind can listen to such hogwash.

Mukurazhizha said that Chamisa should look back and ponder on how the black Africans were abused in the hands of the Western people.

In his 57th Africa Day Celebrations statement yesterday, Chamisa criticised the continent for alleged undemocratic and barbaric tendencies.

The MDC remains a western founded and sponsored party, whose values and aspirations remains divergent to the African ethos, which has seen it being snubbed by many revolutionary parties across the continent.
