Zanu PF Youth League Deputy Secretary Lewis Matutu, yesterday, whilst marking the world Anti-corruption Day tweeted that youths have a role to play in fighting corruption.
Writing on his Twitter account Matutu said that youths must work together in curbing corruption.
“As the youth we have an obligation to fight corruption. Despite the potential in our human and natural resources the socio economic imbalances in Zimbabwe are alarming. Corruption is the urgency of today and the emergency of the youth.
“Our generation must take collective action against the cancer of corruption. Together, let us make corruption in Zimbabwe a risky and less profitable venture. Now that we have identified corruption as a common enemy, we must attack it knowing that our very survival rests on defeating it.
“Taking the message and the fight against corruption to the young people of Zimbabwe has not been easy and will continue to be one of the greatest challenges facing our great continent.
Matutu also reiterated how corruption has disrupted the country’s economic revival efforts.
“However it is a message that must be embraced, and a fight that must be won. Corruption has violated the very foundation of the fight for democracy, as it continues to undermine socio economic transformation,” tweeted Matutu.
Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) a body responsible for dealing with all corruption activities is on high alert to ensure that corruption is dealt with. Whilst also marking the Anti-corruption Day, the commission posted that it will remain committed to ensure that the institute promotes strategies meant to destroy sources of corruption.
