President Mnangagwa has today led the National Clean-Up Campaign at Rugare shopping centre in Harare, as the initiative to inculcate a sense of cleanliness in the country continues.
Today`s clean-up campaign marks the first anniversary of the declaration made by President Emmerson Mnanagagwa on 5th of December 2018.
President Mnangagwa urged people to always observe cleanliness.
“We must not wait for the first Friday of every month to clean our surroundings. After cleaning yourself go outside and check if your environment is also clean,” he said.
The President also highlighted that the culture of cleanliness would boost tourism among other benefits.
The campaign which is now dubbed ‘Industry clean and green campaign’ is part of the initiative introduced by the President to cultivate a culture of cleanliness in various communities in the country.
To date, a total of 30 670 clean up events have been recorded countrywide with over 8 million people participating.
President Mnangagwa also toured stands of companies that operate at the Workington area.
