London group of companies, NMS Group is going to construct 30 health centres in Zimbabwe, The Harare Post can report.
Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Prof Mthuli Ncube on his twitter handle said London based NMS Group was going to invest in 30 health centres, and three hospitals in Zimbabwe.
“I met with NMS Group in London who are investing in 30 health centres in rural areas across Zimbabwe’s provinces, and 3 large hospitals in Zimbabwe. They will also provide resources for medical equipment and drugs,” said the Minister.
The Minister of Finance was in London recently where he met United Kingdom (UK) International Experts Group and investors. The services of the Expert Group are key to improving public service delivery.
Minister Ncube also met with Department for International Development (DFID) of UK Government, and discussed progress on various economic and legislative reforms, thrust of the 2020 National budget and need for more resources to finance Social Protection programs, in the face of the drought situation.
UK is very supportive following the determination by the Second Republic to re-engage the international community. NMS Group has been delivering high impact projects within the healthcare sector, supporting the pillars of stability and security in the provision of social infrastructure in Sub-Saharan Africa.
In September 2019, NMS Infrastructure signed a US$210 million contract with the Zimbabwe Ministry of Health & Child Care to build various new healthcare facilities (a mix of 22-bed rural health centres and 120-bed district hospitals) for the good of the general public.
