The Public Accounts hearing for Sakunda Holdings have been postponed again to the 29th of November with no clear reasons from the Chairperson of the committee.
In an interview with the Harare Post today, the Chief Operating Officer of Sakunda Holdings, Mberikwazvo Chitambo said that he was not given the reason for the postponement.
Chitambo said that Sakunda Holdings was in receipt of three letters from Public Accounts Committee inviting them to come and give oral evidence on the contracts for Command Agriculture and Presidential Input Support Scheme.
He said they were first invited on the 25th of October, then on the 5th of November and on the 13th of November.
Chitambo said that Sakunda Holdings did not receive a letter which the Public Accounts Committee claimed that they wrote on the 23rd of October.
He said that they were told to come on the 11th of November but they could not make it and their excuse could not be accepted by the committee.
Chitambo said that the committee then invited them to come today only to be told that the hearing had been postponed again to the 25th of November.
He said he was told that the committee failed to agree on a certain issues which he could not disclose.
A Source who spoke on condition of anonymity said the meeting failed to kick off as Zanu PF legislators allegedly protested against Biti’s chairmanship of the committee since the MDC legislators refuse to ackwnoledge President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
