In a move that reeks desperation, MDC leader, Nelson Chamisa spelled out seven ‘repackaged’ ways which the MDC intends to remove President Emmerson Mnangagwa and ZANU PF from power.
Addressing the National Executive Committee meeting over the weekend, Chamisa said that the plans objectives would be to remove President Mnangagwa or at least force him to go to the negotiating table.
“As the leadership, we have come up with seven new ways to remove Mr Mnangagwa and his Government or at least force him to give in to our demands for negotiations.
“These plans involve engaging in high intensity demonstrations; lobbying with the Parliament for impeachment; use local authorities; engaging the international community to intervene; make use of media; use of the courts and we also have to occupy the State House,” he said.
The revelations by Chamisa spells of someone who has run out of ideas as all the seven ideas have been implemented since the formation of the MDC with little or no success.
MDC National Chairperson, Tabitha Khumalo was quoted as saying the general public has lost the appetite to carry out demonstrations as they have not been able to meet that party’s objectives.
MDC Chegutu Mayor, Henry Muchatibaya also angered the party leadership after criticizing the idea to hold the August 16 demonstrations, citing that it as a worst of time as it would not achieve the desired results.
A source who spoke to Harare Post revealed that most of the NEC members were not convinced by Chamisa’s address, highlighting that the party needs new and innovative ideas if it is to achieve its objective.
Quizzed on how Chamisa intends to implement the ideas, the source suggested that Chamisa maybe way over his head. He added that demonstrations have been a failure not only this year but since time immemorial.
The source asserted that Chamisa has no clue as to how to lead the opposition as he keeps on regurgitating failed ideas hoping for a different outcome.
“The international community he wants to engage would not have any effect on Zimbabwe as long as the regional and continental bodies are behind ZANU PF and President Mnangagwa’s leadership.
“The party has also engaged the courts with the ConCourt ruling in the aftermath of the elections testament that the MDC needs a new route in the fight against ZANU PF,” the source revealed.
The use of media to advance propaganda has also been a dismal failure with the party creating fake news and stage managing fake abductions in the hope of setting a negative agenda on Zimbabwe that there is no rule of law in the country and that ZANU PF has no regard for human rights.
Chamisa’s inexperience and immaturity is showing for everyone to see and the seven plans he introduced during the NEC meeting has only exposed his weaknesses and strengthened the West’s assertion that Biti would make a better Presidential candidate come 2023.
