A video showing MDC Alliance President, Nelson Chamisa, arriving at a memorial service for the late Vimbai Tsvangirai-Java in Glen View, Harare, has taken social media by storm after a journalist asked the opposition leader an embarrassing question.
Chamisa is on record making inflammatory statements against Government at funerals, blaming it for the allegedly avoidable deaths of violent protesters who succumbed to the post elections violence of 1 August 2018; and the 14 -15 January 2019 unrests.
Given the running record, the opposition leader who himself seems fade up by politicking, ran shot of shouting obscenities at a local journalist who asked him “Mr Chamisa what do you make this funeral?”
The question attracted mixed reactions from netizens who the majority believes the journalist was simply affording Chamisa the stage to do what he knows best. Carrier journalist, Tichaona Zindoga, saw nothing wrong in the question, taking to Twitter that “the anticipated answer was, oh yes! It is a perfect opportunity for politicking once more. I aint letting it pass.”
Zindoga added that “last two major funerals, one for Tsvangirai and the other for Dabengwa, Chamisa grabbed power and the mic in his starring roles. Maybe your memory needs refreshing?”
Tsvangirai-Java succumbed to injuries sustained in a car crash and will be buried tomorrow at Glen Forest Cemetery, Harare.
