Zimbabwe through the Ministry of Environment Tourism and Hospitality Industry attended the World Tourism Forum which was held in Angola recently.
On its twitter handle, the Ministry of Environment said the World Tourism Forum was officially opened by the President of Angola João Lourenço, Zimbabwean Minister of Environment Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Priscah Mupfumira was also present and gave out a key note address on tourism sustainability and social inclusion.
Speaking at the Forum in Angola, the Zimbabwean Minister of Environment Tourism and Hospitality Industry said there was need for tourism to be sustainable and inclusive to all global citizens.
“There is need for tourism to be sustainable, inclusive and responsible for global citizens despite gender, creed or economic status. Global tourism is making strides to ensure inclusion and empowerment of women through the Women in Tourism Empowerment Program (WTEP),” said the Minister of Environment.
Harare Post has learnt that at the World Tourism Forum, delegates from all over the world converged in Angola to interact in decision making in their respective various positions, departments and agencies to impact positively on the travel and tourism industry.
Zimbabwe continues to make strides to reclaim its Global tourism market under the Second Republic’s re-engagement efforts. The tourism industry is one of the country’s biggest foreign currency earners which fall in the same category with the Agriculture and Mining sectors.
