"I want to thank the Chairman of PSC for leading by example. This Cyclone Idai has opened to me what is never expected of my country. The major actors are the civil servants who have been at the forefront of this disaster mitigation that we went through," said Minister Moyo.
Honourable Moyo said that the PSC should award those who worked very hard to assist the Cyclone Idai victims.
"The PSC in its pyscho-social interventions must reward excellence in order to reboot the civil servants from the fatigue they went through during Cyclone Idai relief programs.
"PSC should select those who did the best and award them with medals at our Heroes or Armed forces day celebrations," said the Minister.
Minister Moyo said that the country was now moving away from short term rescue efforts to long term rescue efforts.
He said that the roads were now passable but they needed to be rehabilitated so that they can withstand the rains and also other natural hazards like tremors that usually hit Chimanimani and Chipinge areas.
