Government through the Ministry of Industry and Commerce is set to revive the clothing and manufacturing sector in Bulawayo.
Efforts by Government to revive the economy have seen it setting up the clothing and manufacturing indaba to be held in Bulawayo next week. The indaba is aimed at reviving the clothing and manufacturing sector in the industrial hub which had been on a downward spiral.
Similarly today during the Zanu-PF conference in Esigodini Matebeleland South, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said the economy should not be left to continue facing challenges and assured the nation that the country’s economy was heading for betterment.
“I assure the people that my Government is aware of the challenges facing the nation, Government is running around to secure better relief for the country.
“The conference is meant to strategise the party...I challenge the people to come up with ideas to take the country forward, mutoro uri patiri kuti tiite zvisungo zvekusimudzira nyika ino,” said the President.
The President also urged farmers to take up serious farming activities for the benefit of the nation.
“Farmers must fully utilize land for the benefit of the nation through irrigation schemes, communities and famers should venture into serious farming and Government will continue to support farmers.
“People should try livestock and fishery programmes as they spread to other provinces next year. The restructuring of Cold Storage Commission will bring great results and reposition Zimbabwe as a beef producer,” said President Mnangagwa.
