The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Alliance Presidential spokesperson’s sentiments that Nelson Chamisa is worthy $50 billion to the Zimbabwean economy has drawn a volley of criticism over creation of a demi-god in Chamisa, equivalent to Mugabe era.

In tones of tweets responding to Nkululeko Sibanda’s interview last night on African Voices, netizens condemned the careless statement by the party’s spokesperson.

Vengesai Marufu wailed on his twitter handle, “This is how we created our current calamities. Creating 'gods' in personalities not a system. How the monster called Mugabeism was created! Learn from bad history.”

Agreeing with Marufu, Simon Sibanda said, “But in the long run glorifying an individual is dangerous. When glorified incessantly, many leaders tend to think they are bigger than everyone.”

Mockingly, Bryan Nana said, “A con-man cum presidential candidate is worth 50 billion to the economy of a country. Is this a Trevor Noah show?” Bryan Nana.

These sentiments seem to have opened a pandora’s box on Chamisa’s usual lies and utterances about the economy which seem to have rubbed off on his spokesperson.

Damning evidence against the party’s ignorance in economics seems to be an MDC trademark based on previous utterances.

Previously, the clueless leader has been quoted to have claimed securing USD $15 billion to revive the Zimbabwean economy from the United States, which later turned out to be false. Likewise, Tendai Biti was also  quoted claiming to deliver a 100 billion economy in five years which turned out unfeasible, and now the party’s spokesperson seem to be equally throwing clueless economic figures to glorify their leader.
