ZimTrade, Zimbabwe’s national trade development and promotion body is undertaking a market survey in Mozambique to facilitate penetration of Zimbabwean products on the Mozambican market, The Harare Post can report.
ZimTrade said its team was currently in Mozambique exploring opportunities in the great Mozambican nation to establish buyers for Zimbabwean products and services.
“Mozambique is a great country and presents a market for Zimbabwe products. To better position local companies in the market, our Team is undertaking a survey, which will explore opportunities for products and services as well as networking with potential buyers,” said ZimTrade. The survey would consolidate ZimTrade on a promotional drive to market the country’s products on the export market.
Meanwhile, the national trade development and promotion organisation has also managed to lure an international buyer of metal sculptors who will be visiting the country soon.
In that regard, ZimTrade is calling for expression of interest for bona fide suppliers in a statement which read;
“Are you a creative metal sculptor? We have good news for you! An international buyer will be visiting Zimbabwe soon to meet artists who can supply pieces made from recycled metal. Send samples or catalogue with contact details to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.,” said ZimTrade.
The initiative by ZimTrade should result in the opening up of export opportunities for the country’s products and services. Zimbabwe’s economy is greatly being affected by a trade deficit resulting in more imports than exports. The country has an opportunity to gain foreign earnings and balance its trade through establishing markets for its products abroad.
