The African Development Bank (ADB) Group President, Akinwumi Adesina has pledged to continue supporting the Zimbabwe Government, the Harare Post has learnt.
The Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services posted on its Twitter handle that, “ADB Group President, Akinwumi Adesina paid a courtesy call on President Mnangagwa in Maputo Mozambique where he reassured the President that the Bank will continue to support Zimbabwe to deal with the challenges related to climate change.”
This follows allegiance pledge by the People’s Republic of China that was made recently by Chinese State Councillor and Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr Wang Yi, who pledged to continue supporting Zimbabwe’s numerous development projects including the expansion of the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport and the new Parliament building along old Mazoe road in Harare.
The commitment made by the ADB Group President will go a long way in cushioning the country ahead of the expected drought spell.
Mr Akinwumi met with President Mnangagwa in Maputo on the side-lines of Mozambique’s fourth President, Filipe Nyusi’s inauguration.
