Zimbabwe is attending the 27th edition of the South Asian Travel and Tourism Exchange (SATTE) in New Delhi India, The Harare Post can report.
In an endeavour meant to grow the country’s tourism market from Indian tourists, through marketing Zimbabwe as a tourism destination. The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) has for the first time exhibited at the 27th edition of SATTE in India beginning from today 8January 2020 to 10 January 2020.
On its Facebook page and website, ZTA said SATTE is one of the leading business to business platforms which brings together global travel and tourism players, focused on tourism business exchange.
ZTA Acting Chief Executive, Givemore Chidzidzi said they were focusing on entering into new tourism partnerships with the Indian tourism players.
“There is need for us to mark our presence in the Indian market. We will have to actively increase our marketing activities there. To kick-start this process, we will be participating at the SATTE 2020. The Fair will provide a platform for the country’s tourism industry players to establish new business partners and strengthen relations with key partners and stakeholders from the Indian market and beyond.
“As a country bestowed with rich cultural heritage, destination Zimbabwe is strengthening its tourism business and entering emerging markets. The potential is huge and our main thrust is to continue intensifying our marketing efforts in this market in particular,” said Chidzidzi.
The Harare Post has learnt ZTA is interested in securing the India market since India is part of the Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) family hence it has emerged as one of the fastest growing economies and dependable tourism markets globally.
