In a bid to promote youth empowerment in line with Vision 2030, Zanu PF youths have sourced funds which bought ten CIP machines gold refinery.
In an interview with Harare Post today, Zanu PF Youth Secretary for Administration, Tendai Chirau revealed that the Zanu PF youths sourced funds to the tune of RTGS $2.8 million which they used to buy the equipment.
Chirau said that the youths sourced the funds from a local bank.
“As Zanu PF youth, through the investment vehicle of youth league, we managed to source RTGS $2.8 million. We used the funds to buy ten CIP mining equipment.
“So far we have dispatched one of the CIP equipment to Mashonaland East Province,” said Chirau.
Chirau added that the proceeds from the project will go towards servicing of the equipment, paying the loan and will also be used in approved youth programs.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa is on record for empowering the youths. In 2018, President Mnangagwa opened a Youth Empowerment Bank meant to provide loans to all youths who do not have capital to start their businesses.
Speaking at the opening of the 27th session of the Child Parliament in June, President Mnangagwa said that he would always listen to the youths with a view to adopting appropriate policies to address their concerns.
“As young people, you must take your position and contribute to the development of our great country. I am always ready to listen to you, our children and young people, with a view to adopting appropriate policies to address your concerns. We are indeed masters of our own destiny and dialogue is the culture of the new Zimbabwe,” said the President.
