Zimbabwe is set to participate at the World Travel Market (WTM) exhibition in London in November this year. This was revealed by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) this week in a notice issued to invite tour operators for the exhibition.
“The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority is inviting all registered tourism operators to participate at the World Travel Market from 4 to 6 November 2019,” read part of the notice.
The ZTA described the WTM as a “must must-exhibit travel show in the United Kingdom, a show that brings together the global travel trade under one roof to discuss business, innovations and trends in the travel industry.” It also indicated that nearly 5 000 exhibitors participate at the WTM which is attended by over 51 500 visitors. The ZTA also highlighted that 3 000 members of the global media attend the event.
“Participation fee of US$2 000 will be paid by each operator (who) will meet (their) own travel expenses and upkeep in London, the United Kingdom,” the tourism promotion board said in the statement.
The participation package covers a desk with three chairs, a staff badge per desk, signage with space for brand customisation, storage space for brochures and small luggage items, power for laptop computers and promotional video looping on a screen.
The ZTA has been on a drive to showcase Zimbabwe as a tourism destination to the world which dovetails with Government’s re-engagement programme to normalise relations with the global community of nations. This will assist in turning around the economy through marketing Zimbabwe as an attractive investment and safe tourism destination.
