Ministry of Industry and commerce has assured the nation that the industrial sector is on a positive growth pattern which is in line with Government’s vision 2030 that seeks to empower Zimbabweans.
On its Facebook page, the Ministry said it had realised industry was on a positive growth after touring Pepsi Zimbabwe, Delta Corporation Limited and Davipel among other companies recently.
“Pepsi Zimbabwe is doing well in producing more of soft drinks and is planning to add more lines of products. They have long term plans to diversify their business strategy to encompass economic empowerment programmes. Their aim is to empower Zimbabwe's consumers,” said the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
The Ministry also said Delta Corp Limited was now doing well with the supply of beverages securing most of its raw materials locally.
“Delta is doing well in beer supply since most of its ingredients are locally produced. Delta Corp Limited has investments in associate companies whose activities are in cordials and juice drinks, wines and spirits,” the Ministry said.
Davipel was also acknowledged for exporting dried foods dating back to 2002 when it was established.
“Davipel is a fully-owned indigenous dried food manufacturing company established in 2002 with the aim of supplying quality dried foods to both the local and export market. The company has managed to manufacture its own maize meal using its own raw materials,” said the Ministry.
