The Minister of ICT and Courier Services, Kazembe Kazembe has announced the newly appointed Netone board amid efforts by Government to ensure accountability, fairness, efficiency and stamp out corruption.
The five member board appointed is chaired by a top lawyer, Mr James Prince and deputised by another top lawyer rich in corporate affairs, Mrs Susan Muchaneta Mutangadura.
Other board members are Mr Winstone Makamure, Mr Mathias Rangarirai Mavhunga and Mr Paradzai Mutandwa Chakona.
Minister Kazembe said that the five member board is expected to bring sanity to Netone. He advised the auditorium that the remaining board members will be announced in due course once other pending formalities are addressed.
The Government-run telecoms company has been operating for two months without a board after the Board was dissolved for incompetency. Minister Kazembe said that the two months in which the company ran without a board affected the telecoms operations especially in areas which needed Board decisions.
