The Southern African Development Community (SADC) will hold a virtual Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government this Thursday, focusing on the security situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

SADC Chairperson, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, will preside over the high-level meeting, where regional leaders will receive updates on the evolving security landscape in the DRC and deliberate on key recommendations from the Extraordinary SADC Organ Troika Summit, held on March 6, 2025.

The summit comes amid growing concerns over instability in the DRC, with SADC leaders expected to explore strategies for restoring peace and strengthening regional security efforts.
