Zvimba West Member of Parliament, Kudakwashe Munanzva, has donated 400 pairs of eyeglasses to residents in his constituency, directly benefiting 400 individuals who were in need of vision correction.
This donation was part of Government’s ongoing efforts to improve healthcare access and align with Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030, which aims to transform the nation into an upper-middle-income economy with improved living standards for all.
In an interview yesterday, Munanzva emphasised the importance of addressing basic health needs for the overall development of the community.
“This donation is part of my commitment to the people of Zvimba West Constituency. Vision plays a vital role in one’s ability to live a productive life, and by providing these eyeglasses, we are ensuring that people can lead healthier and more fulfilling lives,” Munanzva said.
One of the recipients, Sarah Chidunga, expressed her gratitude, noting how the donation would positively impact her work.
“I have struggled with poor eyesight for years, and it has affected my ability to teach effectively. This donation will make a huge difference in my work and my life,” Chidunga said.
The MP confirmed that he would also be donating an ultrasound scanner to a local health centre to improve diagnostic services in the region.
The ultrasound machine will be beneficial for pregnant women, allowing for early detection of pregnancy complications and ensuring safer deliveries.
“The ultrasound scanner will enhance healthcare in Zvimba West, especially for expectant mothers. By providing this essential service, we are taking a crucial step towards the health targets set in Vision 2030. Access to such diagnostic tools is vital for a healthier and more prosperous community,” Munanzva explained.
Munanzva also reiterated his focus on aligning local development efforts with the broader objectives of Vision 2030.
He added that improving healthcare infrastructure was critical to ensuring that Zimbabwe’s rural communities benefit from the national growth agenda.
Through initiatives like these, Munanzva is helping to advance the nation’s Vision 2030, which highlights the importance of quality healthcare as a cornerstone of economic development.
By addressing local health challenges, Munanzva continues to make tangible progress toward a healthier, more prosperous Zvimba West Constituency and Zimbabwe as a whole.
