Dr Apollonia Munzverengwi, Minister of Mashonaland East Provincial Affairs and Devolution, yesterday commissioned a series of critical infrastructure projects in Mudzi Rural District Council.
The Minister’s visit commenced with the commissioning of a road backhoe loader, bowser, and 22 motorbikes to be used by councilors and borehole drilling rig equipment at the Mudzi Rural District Council offices.
In her address Minister Munzverengwi eloquently conveyed the government’s commitment to empowering rural communities.
“Today, we stand at the crossroads of transformation through devolution, these machines, these tools of progress, are the harbingers of a new dawn in Mudzi. The borehole rig will be utilized, ensuring the people in Mudzi have sufficient water. Other equipment will drive the development of Mudzi, taming the unforgiving terrain and unlocking the boundless potential within our land,
“By empowering our district with these necessary tools, Government is ensuring that our road networks are well-maintained and our communities have dependable access to clean water,” said Minister Munzverengwi.
The Minister’s tour also included a stop at Chisvo Secondary School, where she commissioned a new detached staff house.
“Education is the cornerstone of our future, providing our teachers with suitable accommodation is crucial to ensuring that our children receive the best possible education, by ensuring that educators are well-supported, we are nurturing the minds that will drive innovation, growth, and prosperity in the years to come” Hon. Munzverengwi emphasized.
Following the commissioning of the staff house, Hon. Dr. Munzverengwi proceeded to Chimango Clinic, where she officially opened the newly constructed healthcare facility.
Minister Munzverengwi highlighted how the clinic will serve as a vital access point for medical services in the region.
“Healthcare accessibility is a fundamental right, with the opening of Chimango Clinic, we are taking a monumental step towards ensuring that our residents receive timely and efficient medical care,” declared the Minister.
Mudzi Rural District Council Chief Executive Mr Victor Nyamutswa expressed gratitude for the support and guidance provided by the Second Republic.
“These projects are a sign of dedication and the Second Republic’s unwavering commitment to the development of our rural communities, we are grateful for the support and guidance provided byGovernment,” said Nyamutswa.
Meanwhile, through strategic investments in critical infrastructure such as roads, water sources, healthcare, and education, the administration is not only addressing immediate community needs but also laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth.
