In a significant call to action, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga emphasized the crucial role of collaborative effort in realizing Zimbabwe's ambitious Vision 2030.
Addressing attendees at the Government Experience Exchange Programme Workshop yesterday, VP Chiwenga stressed the necessity of unity and concerted action among all Government ministries and citizens to make the most of available resources.
"Zimbabweans are looking to the Government for real, impactful outcomes, aligning with the commitments made during the campaign and subsequent policy declarations," VP Chiwenga stated.
He underscored the focus on promoting balanced and inclusive development, adhering to the principle of leaving no one and no place behind.
The VP said that this stage of development was about prioritizing people-centric policies, programs, and projects that promote sustainable, inclusive socio-economic growth in rural areas, driven by devolution, decentralization, modernization, and industrialization.
Furthermore, VP Chiwenga pointed out the importance of integrating policy imperatives into Strategic Plans, Annual Plans, and Performance Contracts to ensure successful implementation.
"These tools are vital for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in executing various policies, programs, and projects. Regular updates on progress are expected from the Presidency," he added.
Reiterating the importance of Vision 2030, VP Chiwenga highlighted that its achievement must be reflected in tangible actions and efficient, systematic execution of programs and projects to bring about meaningful change in the economy and people's lives.
The workshop followed a series of high-level Government meetings and the 20th Zanu PF Annual People's Conference held in mid-September and late October 2023, respectively.
These meetings set forth key policy directives to robustly steer the Government's agenda for the next five years under the Second Republic.
