An influential Head of State (name supplied) from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region has launched a stinging critique on Nelson Chamisa, leader of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), over his decision to allow the party's legislators and councillors to be sworn in after the recent elections.

A reliable source close to the situation divulged to our publication that the Head of State felt that the CCC had now compromised its narrative that the recently concluded elections were rigged in favour of the ZANU PF party.

The source confided that the said Head of State described Chamisa as politically immature.

He (the Head of State) described Chamisa as a 'dunderhead' and a politically immature leader who consistently makes political blunders. To him, this move has not only weakened the party's position but also its reputation in the diplomatic arena," said the source.

Adding fuel to the fire, the same Head of State, as per our source, characterised the CCC's legislators and councillors as "greedy individuals who prioritise their own gains over the welfare of the people they represent."

The source added that the same Head of State said, "By agreeing to be sworn in, the CCC legislators have hamstrung the diplomatic offensive. The general sentiment now is that their narrative and their grievances will be taken with a pinch of salt by many."

Questions on the legitimacy and fairness of the elections have been rife, with the CCC at the forefront of claims that the process favoured ZANU PF.

However, that party is yet to provide substantial evidence to back up its allegations of electoral malfeasance.

According to political analysts, this inability to furnish concrete proof was a primary reason they refrained from approaching the courts for redress.

Meanwhile, the CCC has yet to issue a formal statement regarding the criticism, but political analysts believe that the CCC is slowly losing sympathy among the SADC member states.
