In a startling revelation from a trusted source, it was brought to light that a prophet residing in Harare, identified only as Tatenda Mwadewenyu, has made a chilling prophecy about independent presidential candidate, Saviour Kasukuwere.
The prophet warned of a potential poisoning plot against Kasukuwere, alleging the involvement of a well-known musician who splits his time between South Africa and Zimbabwe.
According to the insider's account, Prophet Mwadewenyu felt compelled to relay the unsettling prediction to someone in Kasukuwere's innermost circle, urging them to pass on the message of caution to the presidential candidate himself.
The source added that this move was motivated by a genuine concern for Kasukuwere's well-being rather than an attempt at self-promotion or political manipulation.
However, the reaction from Kasukuwere's camp was not as one might expect as Kasukuwere dismissed Mwadewenyu as a false prophet.
“Upon receiving the prophecy, Kasukuwere downplayed its importance, dismissing Mwadewenyu as a false prophet. Kasukuwere expressed his scepticism about the ominous prediction. It's believed he mentioned, rather defiantly, that he consults his own trusted prophets and is not inclined to entertain predictions from just anyone,”said the source.
Political analyst, Edith Mushore said that this dismissive stance might appear bold on the surface, but it has unwittingly revealed a deeper, growing rift within the Kasukuwere faction.
“The prophecy has only intensified the tensions that were already brewing. The discord is such that allegations of ineffectiveness and exploitative intentions are being levelled against Kasukuwere's legal team. There are murmurs that they are not acting in his best interests, and are, in fact, only interested in "milking" the candidate for their own gain,” said Mushore.
Mushore added that even more concerning for Kasukuwere's election campaign was the increasing discontent directed towards his spokesperson, Jacky Sande.
“Many of Kasukuwere's supporters and sympathizers are questioning Sande's competence, suggesting she lacks a fundamental understanding of Zimbabwe's intricate political landscape. Such allegations, if true, could have dire implications for a presidential campaign, especially in a political climate as volatile as Zimbabwe’s,” added Mushore.
Meanwhile, the prophecy, and the subsequent rift it has caused, comes at a crucial time in the lead-up to the elections. For Kasukuwere, a candidate already facing challenges, these internal disagreements and external warnings might threaten to derail his campaign entirely.
