In an unusual twist of events, Saviour Kasukuwere's team has reportedly turned to spirit mediums for guidance and fortitude in the wake of the High Court ruling that disqualified Kasukuwere from the upcoming elections.

Kasukuwere's cousin brother, Itai Dickson Mafios, and one Munyaradzi Mhende, have been noted moving from one sangoma to another seeking divine intervention.

According to a source, Mafios and other close members of the Kasukuwere family are planning to hold a traditional ceremony guided by an unnamed sangoma.

This ceremony is purportedly aimed at ensuring Kasukuwere's presidential bid becomes a success.

Political analyst, Willard Gunyere said that this unexpected turn of events raises many questions about Kasukuwere's political strategy and the lengths his team was willing to go to secure a win.

“Spiritual consultations are a deeply rooted part of many African cultures, offering guidance and wisdom during critical times. However, the political sphere has predominantly remained separate from these traditional practices. The move by Kasukuwere's team to seek spiritual intervention is seen by many as a desperate measure, indicating a lack of confidence in their political tactics,” said Gunyere.

According to Gunyere, the involvement of close family members like Mafios in the spiritual consultations underscores the personal stake that Kasukuwere's family has in his political future.

“Yet, these extraordinary measures have raised eyebrows among political observers and citizens alike, who question the efficacy and appropriateness of such methods in the political arena,” added Gunyere.

In addition to this, Gunyere said that Kasukuwere's prolonged absence from the country was sowing seeds of doubt among his remaining sympathisers.

“His extended absence, coupled with the High Court ruling and these unusual spiritual consultations, is making some people question his sincerity in contesting this year's presidential elections,” said Gunyere.
