The Second Republic's engagement and re-engagement policy continues to be fruitful as the country records milestones at the US-Africa Summit held in Botswana from July 11 to 14, 2023.
Speaking during the 21st Post-Cabinet media briefing yesterday, Minister of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services, Monica Mutsvangwa, affirmed that President Emmerson Mnangagwa successfully attended the US-Africa Business Summit, which provided business opportunities for Zimbabwe.
"Cabinet wishes to advise that during the Business Summit, the President outlined Zimbabwe’s agricultural model and experience in climate-proofing agriculture, which was well received. The Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) was able to successfully conduct an Invest in the Zimbabwe Breakfast meeting on the side-lines of the Summit, as part of the investment attraction agenda. In particular, the Business Summit explored new and evolving opportunities to strengthen US-Africa trade and investment relationships," said Minister Mutsvangwa.
Minister Mutsvangwa added that the business summit explored new and evolving opportunities to strengthen US-Africa trade and investment opportunities for Zimbabwe.
"The Summit provided business opportunities for Zimbabwe. More importantly, the Summit focused on enhancing mutually beneficial collaboration between the USA and African countries in areas of mutual interest, including agribusiness, digital connectivity, health, sustainable energy, finance, and infrastructure," said Minister Mutsvangwa.
Meanwhile, Minister Mutsvangwa indicated that the Government would be holding the 2nd Infrastructure Summit from July 20 to 21, 2023, in Victoria Falls to improve transport infrastructure project development and attract further global investors to do business in Zimbabwe.
