Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), has reportedly disbanded interim structures across the country ahead of the night of long knives.
This follows the call from their western handlers to immediately set up permanent structures within that party.
A source within the CCC interim structures revealed that Britain and the United States of America were pushing for a more permanent set up in the structures, so that they can identify individuals in the fore front of that party.
“In the meeting, we were told that the USA and Britain are keen to know who is who in the party, forcing Nelson Chamisa and his interim executive to abolish all interim posts.
“This move is bound to cause serious fissures within the already fractured party if Chamisa chooses to go it alone and do his personal selection instead of going for an elective congress,” said the insider
While making reference to self-exiled former Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Professor Jonathan Moyo’s sentiments on the need for CCC to create party structures, author and political analyst, Professor Stephen Chan reiterated that the western handlers of CCC have also demanded to know who is who in that party.
“I understand Jonathan Moyo did indeed seek to join the CCC, thankfully that fell through as his record is hardly one of loyalty. But he has made astute comments on the need for party structures. Certainly the west NEEDS to know WHO is in the front bench,” said Dr Chan
The source further revealed that Chamisa was at loggerheads with a number of his interim leaders such that the call for the creation of structures will most certainly damage that party further.
“Chamisa and our interim party Spokesperson Fadzai Mahere are not seeing eye to eye lately due to the negative publicity on social media. Chamisa seems to think that Mahere has disqualified herself as the face of the CCC party.
“On the other hand, Tendai Biti and Job Sikhala are all vying for position of president and are demanding an elective congress once the structures are dissolved. Welshman Ncube and Thokozani Khupe have always felt side-lined on tribal lines,” said the source
Meanwhile, CCC has continuously been on the receiving end from Prof. Jonathan Moyo and members of the public who have repeatedly called on that party to toe the democratic line which calls for them to develop a party constitution as well as call for an elective congress to properly and democratically set-up party structures.
