Biti the biggest sell out since Nyathi

Citizens have castigated the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), interim vice leader, Tendai Biti, calling him the biggest sell out since Morrison Nyathi who betrayed fellow freedom fighters in Chimoio and Nyadzonya to the colonial soldiers during the Liberation Struggle.

The castigation follows Biti’s recent utterances during a rally at his constituency and pompous behaviour where he prides himself as the West’s blue eyed-boy, who is able to understand them at their level since they speak the same Cambridge and Oxford English.

Making reference to Biti’s letter, in which he advised the World Bank not to assist Zimbabwe with any form of financial aid, unless it adhered to his six features which he claimed should be included in any assistance package.

Brandon Tabwera, a netizen, had an outburst at Biti’s six features, which do not take into consideration the suffering of the Zimbabwean people.

“This guy @tendaibiti will never have my respect.  What is he trying to accomplish here?  This is stupidity and all for need of power?  Pets put Zimbabwe first amana,” said Tabwera.

Zaire Baraka reiterated saying, “Biti thinks if people suffer they will revolt against their government.  That’s why we always say Zimbabwe should always come first ahead of any political affiliation.  One should think of the repercussions of his actions first before embarking on such a devilish act.”

Rubbishing Biti as a sell-out, netizen Charega further added that, “We say NO to such sell-out.  Simply calling for stiffer economic sanctions on one’s own country in order to attempt to wrestle power from an elected Government won’t succeed.”

Meanwhile, Biti has been on social media exposing the hand of the West in the CCC party, while claiming that he has the western leaders eating out of his palm and that they are quick to act according to his whims.  In his letter, Biti advised the World Bank to channel Zimbabwean funds from the World Bank through the Civil Society Organisations that he has direct control over.

“Finally, I understand that the Government has pleaded with the Bank or more assistance and a way out of its current debt arrears the same concerns about retrenchment and repression apply.  I would be happy to help facilitate dialogue between the Bank and CSOs on the arrears question as a way of ensuring that international support to Zimbabwe is consistent with economic and democratic reform and not step backwards for our long-suffering people,” said Biti.

The country is currently in election mode, and the call by the opposition CCC and its members for the tightening of sanctions is even louder.  This has been the modus operandi of the opposition MDC since its inception in 2000 as they believe that if the people are suffering they fight against the current Government, it will work in their favour. However, the people have remained unwavering in their support for the Revolutionary Party, Zanu PF.
