Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) members in Bulawayo have rejected Nelson Chamisa’s directive that they should start accommodating MDC T faction leader, Dr Thokozani Khupe in their meetings.

A source within that party said Chamisa was trying to smoke a peace pipe with Khupe after their fallout in 2018 and was in the process of integrating her in the CCC structures.

The source said Chamisa held some telephone conversations with Khupe and they agreed that she should be accommodated in the interim CCC Bulawayo structures, despite her being a faction leader of the MDC T.

However, the CCC Bulawayo members vowed not to work with Khupe and they have since described her as a sell-out who should not be tolerated.

“We don’t want that lady (Khupe). The evil she committed against Chamisa should not be forgiven. We don’t want her in our meetings,” said the source.

A CCC member in Bulawayo, Stephen Nkomo, said Khupe was a hindrance to the CCC progress as she was divisive and power hungry.

“Yena kalamahloni shuwa lumana.Nguye owenzenje sengofuna ukuza never. Siyamhoza kuphela kabuye abone,” said Nkomo.

Another CCC member who spoke to this publication on condition of anonymity accused Khupe’s body guard of trying to kill him in 2018.

“Her (Khupe’s) bodyguard strangled me in 2018 when they took over Harvest House. It’s surprising that she now wants to attend our meetings. We don’t want her in our meetings. If the president (Chamisa) wants Khupe, he should accommodate her in his meetings in Harare not directing the people of Bulawayo to accept her,” fumed the source.

The source further claimed that Khupe was a ritualist as she spends much of her time consulting spiritual healers so that she can amass political powers.

Meanwhile, there are reports suggesting that Khupe was at a political crossroads as she is contemplating leading the MDC T faction, join CCC or rally behind the Matebeleland Agenda being spearheaded by Welshman Ncube.
