President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed Chirumhanzu legislator, Honourable Barbra Rwodzi, as the new Deputy Minister for Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

In a statement, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda announced that the President made the appointment in terms of Section 104 (2) of the Zimbabwean constitution.

“In terms of Section 104 (2) of the constitution of Zimbabwe (Amendment No.20) of 2013, His Excellency the President ,Cde E.D Mnangagwa, has made the following appointment:

“Honourable Barbra Rwodzi, Member of Parliament for Chirumhanzu, Midlands Province, as Deputy Minister for Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry,” reads the statement from Dr Sibanda.

Dr Sibanda said that Honourable Rwodzi is a holder of a Masters of Business Administration Degree and Bachelor of Honours Degree in Business studies. Honourable Rwodzi is also a member of the Pan African Parliament (PAP) of the African Union (AU).

Rwodzi made headlines last year during PAP elections in South Africa when she led legislators from the SADC region in demanding a rotational system of the presidency.
