President Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House in Harare today proclaimed Monday 15th June as a National Day of Prayer and Fasting.
The proclamation of the National Day of Prayer and Fasting comes at a time the President has said the country needs divine healing to overcome the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
“At this extremely challenging time for our nation and indeed the world, I am humbled to proclaim Monday 15th June as a National Day of Prayer and Fasting.
“I invite you all to come together as a nation before the Almighty God, to seek His mercy, wisdom, help and healing to overcome this deadly pandemic, all the while diligently observing every precaution necessary to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
“May God bless you all and may God bless Zimbabwe,” said the President.
The Harare Post has learnt that the country continues to be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Today the Ministry of Health and Childcare tweeted, “COVID-19 Update: As at 10 June 2020, Zimbabwe has 320 confirmed cases, including 49 recoveries and four (4) deaths.”
Although measures have been put in place by Government to end the continuous contamination of the pandemic in the country, appealing to the Almighty God will surely deliver the country from the scourge as he is capable of solving any challenges his people might face.
