The ZANU PF Women’s League Secretary has donated 50 000 pieces of face masks, as they up the fight against COVID-19 which continues to wreak havoc in the country as repatriation of Zimbabwean nationals continues.
Speaking at the party headquarters, before the politburo meeting today, ZANU PF Women’s League Secretary, Mabel Chinomona said that the masks were to be distributed to each of the country’s 10 provinces.
“We have seen it fit to play our part as the Women’s League and chip in to assist with these face masks for the benefit of the whole country since everyone is affected with this pandemic,” she said.
Showcasing some of the 50 000 face masks produced, the Women’s League Secretary for Administration, Monica Mutsvangwa added that they had realised the need to assist the public by providing face masks since in rural areas there are reports of sub-standard material being used by manufacturers onto the gullible public.
“These would therefore aid as guides so that the public can have a general appreciation of what to use,” she said.
Apart from face masks, plans were said to be afoot to come up with sanitisers and detergents (hand wash) to aid in the fight against the disease.
