Delegates attending the sixth African Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (AFRSD) here in Victoria Falls have applauded the Zimbabwean people for their kind hospitality, Harare Post can report.
The forum is being attended by delegates from all over Africa and some of the delegates have come from countries such as Italy, United States of America (USA) and Canada.
A delegate from Niger, Mr. Usumani Meinassara, said Zimbabwean people are very kind and helpful.
“Zimbabwean people are very kind. They have assisted me from the very day I landed here in Zimbabwe. They always speak to you with a smile”, said Mr. Meinassara.
Another female delegate, Teresa Blumensteir, from USA, said some of the International news houses are not reporting fairly on Zimbabwe.
She said Zimbabwe is a very peaceful country with loving people and the media should thrive to portray the true Zimbabwean story.
Alessandra Casazza who is attending the forum on behalf of Italy commended the Zimbabwean people for their accommodating behavior.
“I haven’t felt out of place since Saturday as the people I’m interacting with at my place of stay (Kingdom Hotel) are so friendly and caring. Given a chance, I will not hesitate to come back to Zimbabwe again”, said Casazza with a chuckle.
Moses Quarshie, a Ghanaian, praised the Zimbabwean hotels, in particular Elephant hotel, for their world class services.
He said the hotel offers services that are rare in other African countries.
Qurshie said he will carry with him to Ghana, the character of love and brotherhood he has learnt from the Zimbabwean people.
The Sixth African Regional Forum on Sustainable Development where nearly 3000 delegates are expected is running under the theme, “2020-2030”: A decade to deliver a transformed and prosperous Africa through the 2030 and 2063 agenda.
The meeting will conclude on 27 February with member states and other stakeholders expected to discuss and review all 17 Sustainable Development Goals for the betterment of the African people.
