ZANU PF Youth League executive said Zimbabwe is now on its way to economic transformation anchored on President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030.
The youths described the existing cooperation between Zimbabwe and China as key in the development of the nation as well as Africa.
Commenting on the recently held 5th session of the China-Africa Young Leaders Forum virtual meeting where more than 140 youths from China and Africa attended, ZANU PF Youth League National Secretary for Economic Affairs, Cde Shingirirayi Mangwana, hoped that the cooperation between Zimbabwe and China will focus more on value addition and beneficiation.
“Zimbabwe is now on a clear pathway to economic transformation anchored on Vision 2030. Thus, Vision 2030 will be further enhanced by the ongoing China-Africa cooperation which has invested in mega infrastructural projects covering energy and mining development among others. As we march towards a new era we hope that the cooperation extends to investing more in value addition and beneficiation of our various raw materials,” he said.
Zimbabwe and China enjoy good relations with the two countries collaborating in a number of developmental projects in various sectors that include agriculture and technology exchange.
Recently, China’s ambassador to Zimbabwe His Excellency, Guo Shaochun revealed that his country is set to sign an agreement that will facilitate the export of citrus produce from Zimbabwe.
Addressing the media at the Chinese Embassy on the trade deals between the two countries, Ambassador Guo Shaochun revealed that a deal between Zimbabwe and China was on the cards. He said this was expected to pave way for an agreement between the two countries facilitating export of Zimbabwe’s citrus and other agricultural produce
“China had attached great importance with its trade with Zimbabwe and would like to increase the exports from Zimbabwe. We have Zimbabwe now exporting more products to China each year. We are working with colleagues to accelerate the signing of the agreement that will see Zimbabwe exporting citrus to China,” said the Ambassador.
The Chinese ambassador also highlighted the various areas of co-operation between the two governments which include the new parliament building which is nearing completion and the expansion of the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International airport.
China is also undertaking various projects in mining and power generation in Zimbabwe.
