Newly launched airline, Flycity Air is set to introduce a Harare-Mutare flight with effect from September this year.
The flight is set to offer greater accessibility between the capital city and the scenic Eastern highlands to foster domestic tourism inline with Government’s position to improve domestic flights.
In a statement this week, the airline said the move is intended to improve efficiency in domestic travel as well as to improve business between the two towns.
“We will be introducing three weekly flights between Harare and Mutare, from September. Monday, Wednesday and Friday,” read the statement.
The 40 minute flight will be operating at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International airport using the Harare Domestic terminal. Flights will be scheduled as follows; Sunday, Wednesday and Friday, flight will travel from Harare (HRE) to Mutare (UTA) between 1620-1700, while on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, UTA 0700 -HRE 0740.
The air shuttle service provider said that the flight’s one way ticket would cost US $100 which will be inclusive of departure taxes.
FlyCity said online booking services will be availed once the operations start. Also, travel agents are set to become operational soon as this would facilitate easy and smooth flow of business.
Apart from that, FlyCity also assured good services adding that the Cessna caravan was a workhorse whose pilots and aircraft have been certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe.
Flycity is a private plane charter which coordinates air charter services from as little as five seater, 12 seater and 50 seater.
