Its only yesterday when President Mnangagwa bailed out City of Harare Council from failing to supply water to the residents of Harare. This is after he toured the Morton Jaffray Waterworks.
The MDC led city council incompetence had now reached alarming levels of failing to supply even the brown coloured dirty water to the few remaining suburbs as most residents of Harare because of no tapped water for years had gotten accustomed to the dry taps.
President Mnangagwa showed that he is the man of the people and does not discriminate people on political grounds. He met the Harare Town mayor Councillor Herbert Gomba who is from an MDC party and resolved to help the MDC failed council despite their political differences.
Minister of Finance and Economic Development Professor Mthuli Ncube during the tour promised significant improvements within a period of six months of Government intervention.
The Government will be switching from the use of water from Lake Chivero to Manyame dam because the water from Manyame dam is cleaner compared to that from Lake Chivero which has raw sewage.
“What we are doing is to switch the sourcing of raw water from Lake Chivero to Manyame because Manyame has cleaner water and the cost of cleaning it is lower than Chivero,” said Minister Ncube.
“So, that is why His Excellency is committing us to do that so everyone in the thick of the system whether it is city of Harare, Chemplex the chemical producers, Government will provide funding. The idea is to migrate from Chivero to Manyame for that switch, also with more rains, it will flush out that algae in Chivero, but the commitment is to use Manyame,”said the Minister of Finance.
The President is toiling day and night to ensure that he improves the livelihoods of Zimbabweans in line with the vision 2030. That is what leadership should be like, President Mnangagwa is a leader of Zimbabwe and administer to the welfare of every citizen.
The clean water will benefit all residents of Harare including the MDC leader Nelson Chamisa who is advocating for sanctions to stay. Chamisa knows very well that these sanctions are frustrating all Government efforts to revive the economy.
The subsidised transport which is being provided by President Mnangagwa’s administration is also benefitting everyone despite differences on political grounds. This Friday President Mnangagwa is going to launch an additional of 100 buses in Bulawayo meant to benefit all citizens.
Zimbabweans are appreciating all these efforts by President Mnangagwa. It is only the minority MDC party which want to persuade people to give a blind eye to the efforts by President Mnangagwa in their quest to disrupt anything progressive that the government does in a bid to get into power.
The MDC party tries by all means to frustrate Government efforts through organising destructive demonstrations as is their “kudira jecha” mantra. President Mnangagwa will soldier on together with the patriotic Zimbabweans who are ready to work for their country for a prosperous Zimbabwe. As Zimbabweans we will not be swayed by these retrogressive opposition political parties who have been working to undo all the good the Second Republic has achieved.
It only takes a fool and one who has his own political agenda to deny the efforts being done by the Mnangagwa’s administration to ensure that the Zimbabweans are cushioned in this period of austerity measures.
