ZPCS embarks on efficiency drive

These officers, chosen for their remarkable aptitude and dedication, represent the new face of ZPCS, marking a turning point in the drive for operational excellence.

The illustrious Commissioner General of ZPCS, Moses Cyril Ngawaite Chihobvu, remarked during his address, "This bespoke course is the cornerstone of our relentless pursuit of efficiency. It has been meticulously designed to arm our officers with the advanced skills and knowledge indispensable for the modern challenges they face."

The Commissioner General went on to underscore the pressing need for such a course, explaining, “The complex and rapidly changing landscape of prison management, shaped by technology and global shifts, demands a highly skilled and agile workforce. And now, thanks to their successful completion of this elite training, our officers are equipped to deliver with an efficacy that is second to none.”

In his further remarks, Commissioner General Chihobvu elucidated the core vision behind the course, “Our aim is straightforward – to transform and uplift our correctional system. To move away from mere punitive measures and instead focus on effective rehabilitation and societal reintegration, but to do so with the utmost efficiency."


Commissioner General Chihobvu communicated that the ZPCS is taking significant strides towards enhancing its efficiency.

He further underscored the course's intrinsic value, describing it as a crucial tool in ZPCS's relentless drive for efficiency.

Commissioner General Chihobvu explained that the current complexities of prison management, intensified by technological advancements and global dynamics, necessitate a workforce that's both skilled and adaptable.

 With the successful culmination of this elite training, he confidently expressed that the officers were now equipped to meet these demands with unmatched efficacy.

Meanwhile, this batch of efficiency-champions from the ZPCS is the seventh to undergo this transformative journey. The course has been precisely calibrated, with durations of 6 months for junior officers and a year for senior ones, ensuring that every layer of the ZPCS benefits from this sweeping efficiency drive, setting Zimbabwe's prison system on a fast track to global distinction.
