A source who spoke to this publication revealed that AFP was set to interview CCC deputy leader Tendai Biti in relation to the developmental projects implemented by the Second Republic on its road to attaining Vision 2030. The source further disclosed that Biti was likely to attack the Second Republic and Zanu PF in that interview.
"It is sad to note that the CCC Deputy Leader Tendai Biti wants to take the AFP interview as an opportunity to tarnish the image of the Second Republic. CCC was denied a chance to be interviewed by the nation`s leading broadcaster, Zimbabwe Broadcasting Services (ZBC), highlighting that they do not want anything to do with the Second Republic.
"The AFP must be objective in these interviews. The Second Republic has done a lot to turn around the economy. The developmental projects are visible as evidence that the Second Republic has workable policies, yet Biti will find fault where there is none to buy sympathy from the international community. We all know that the opposition CCC will never appreciate the Second Republic’s developmental projects just because they want to fulfil their selfish agenda of regime change.
Meanwhile, CCC interim Secretary-General Fadzayi Mahere has instructed that party’s candidates to refrain from granting interviews to ZBC journalists. Mahere reportedly advised that candidates from the CCC should exclusively interact with international media houses such as the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), Voice of America (VOA), and Reuters and shun the National Broadcaster.
