CCC activist assaulted over bedding a married woman

A Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) activist in Epworth, Silvester Chiundiza, was severely assaulted yesterday following an incident involving a married woman in the Overspill suburb.

According to sources close to the situation, Chiundiza was caught in a compromising position with the woman, leading to a violent altercation.

A local resident, who chose to remain anonymous, shared, "Chiundiza was found in a compromising situation with a married woman. The confrontation turned physical, and he sustained serious injuries. It's a situation that has shocked many here."

The source said that Chiundidza sustained a broken arm, swollen eyes, and bruises all over the body after the assault.

In a surprising turn of events, Chiundiza allegedly claimed he was abducted and tortured by State Security agents due to his political affiliations.

However, this narrative is being challenged by local sources. The claim that he was abducted and tortured was reportedly spread by CCC's online publication, Change Radio, which stated that Chiundiza had been abducted, tortured, and later returned to his home.

However, residents of Epworth, familiar with Chiundiza, have expressed scepticism about his account.

"We know Chiundiza here; he has a history with women. His story about abduction doesn’t add up with what we know and have seen," said one resident, who asked not to be named.

These sentiments were echoed by others in the community, with many urging Chiundiza to be honest about the circumstances leading to his injuries.

"It's important for the truth to come out. Fabricating stories of abduction is serious and detracts from real cases of political persecution," another resident added.

The incident has stirred up discussions in Epworth, with many concerned about the implications of falsely claiming political persecution. The matter remains unresolved, as more details are expected to emerge.

Attempts to reach Silvester Chiundiza for a comment were unsuccessful, as his mobile phone was not reachable at the time of writing.
