Zanu PF Mt Darwin South legislator, Kudakwashe Mupamhanga, yesterday, officially opened a new school block at Kandeya Secondary School, in Ward 23, and emphasized Government’s commitment to advancing educational facilities across Zimbabwe.

The block, generously donated by Hear Africa Foundation, is a boon for the community, providing modern learning facilities including a computer lab and solar backup power.

Mupamhanga, in his address, emphasized the Government’s commitment to advancing educational facilities across Zimbabwe.

"This initiative is a testament to our ongoing efforts to enhance the educational infrastructure in the country. We will continue to collaborate with progressive individuals and organizations to ensure that our citizens have access to quality education and improved general life," Mupamhanga remarked.

The new classroom block is part of a broader initiative by the Hear Africa Foundation, which has undertaken various infrastructure projects within the Mt Darwin South Constituency.

The foundation's trustees, based in Canada, are keen on implementing development projects that bolster the educational sector in Zimbabwe.

Reiterating President Mnangagwa's mantra, "Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo,” Mupamhanga encouraged Zimbabweans in the diaspora to support the development agenda led by the President, aiming to propel the nation to greater heights.

"Our goal is to expedite the capacitation of existing schools and the establishment of new educational facilities. This will be achieved through strategic partnerships with development partners and stakeholders from both the private and public sectors," Mupamhanga stated.

Residents of Kandeya expressed their gratitude and excitement over the new development.

"We are thrilled to see such progress in our community. This new school block not only provides a conducive learning environment for our children but also brings hope for a brighter future," said Tendai Musariri, a local parent.

Another resident, Farai Moyo applauded the efforts, saying, “It’s heartening to see the Government and international organizations working together for the benefit of our community. Education is the key to our children’s future, and we are grateful for these significant improvements."

The new school block at Kandeya Secondary School stands as a symbol of the collaborative efforts between the Government and international partners, paving the way for enhanced educational opportunities and community development in Mt Darwin South.
