…as he is set to be groomed to take over the leadership of CCC

The Citizens Coalition for Change's (CCC) interim co-deputy president, Tendai Biti, is set to relocate to the United States of America (USA), where he is to be groomed to take over the leadership of that party.

A source who spoke to this publication said that Biti’s handlers had successfully secured a two-year contract for him at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and during the duration of the contract, he will also undergo intensive training and grooming in leadership.

“The objective is to position Biti as the new face of the opposition, replacing the current leader, Nelson Chamisa ahead of the 2028 plebiscite," said the source.

According to the source, the West has grown increasingly disillusioned with Chamisa's leadership and now sees Biti as the beacon of hope for Zimbabwe's opposition.

The source remarked, "The international community has lost trust and faith in Chamisa's ability to effectively challenge the ruling Government. Biti is perceived as a dynamic and strategic leader who can rally the opposition and contest the presidency in 2028."

The source revealed the rationale behind Biti's specialized training, stating, "Biti will be undergoing rigorous grooming in subversive activities and learning strategies to confront the ruling Government radically. This training is imperative to equip him with the necessary skills to lead the opposition effectively and bring about the desired political change in Zimbabwe."

The same source said that of late, Biti has disengaged from CCC activities, opting to operate from the peripheries.

This calculated move, according to the source, stems from Biti's acknowledgment that Chamisa's tenure as the party leader is drawing to a close, and he is primed to assume the mantle.

The CCC, however, finds itself entangled in internal strife, with Chamisa reportedly resisting calls for an elective congress.

“He (Chamisa) contends that the CCC, as a unique political entity, doesn't adhere to the conventional practice of holding elective congresses. This resistance has further deepened divisions within the party,” added the source.

As Biti prepares for this significant chapter in his political career, the CCC remains at a crossroads, navigating internal dissent, while Zimbabwe anticipates the unfolding of a new era with Biti at the helm of the opposition.
