The ruling ZANU PF party has oiled its machinery and is now ready to  have a successful campaign that will lead to  a resounding victory in the forthcoming elections.

In a statement yesterday, ZANU PF’s National Political Commissar (NPC) Cde Mike Bimha said that the Party has adequate strategies to get people to vote for it in the forthcoming plebiscite.

“We have adequate strategies to get people to vote for our Party. We already have overwhelming requests by opposition party members who want to  join ZANU PF. This  hasn’t come as a form of violence, but through thorough persuasion and what they see as results of the success stories of ZANU PF  in terms of Government programmes,” said Cde Bimha.

The NPC urged ZANU PF supporters to shun violence, even if they were provoked by opposition members, and to allow the law to take its course in such scenarios.

“We urge party supporters to gear up for the various campaigns in all the provinces and I am happy that all our structures are ready to drive the campaign strategy. In that regard, I really want to call upon all our members to shun any form of violence,” said Cde Bimha.

Cde Bimha said that Party provincial leaders should ensure that all Party members were registered to vote and ready to vote. He said that the leaders should assist Party members to get necessary documents in order for them to register to vote.

The NPC informed that dates for primary elections would be announced after the Party has agreed on the necessary guidelines.

“I don’t have any date as yet because we are carrying out a number of consultations as we always do and once the consultations have been done and ground work covered, we will be engaging the Party leadership for guidance and direction in terms of when the primary elections will be held,” said Cde Bimha.

Meanwhile, in the forthcoming elections, ZANU PF would be invigorated by game-changing policies that the Second Republic is implementing to make Zimbabwe an upper-middle-class economy by 2030.The elections are also coming at a time the ruling party is steering the economy towards sustainable growth as stated in the economic blueprint, the National Development Strategy 1.
