Citizens Coalition for Change’s (CCC) failure to resolve the issue of double candidates in Bulawayo Ward 26 is haunting that party as one candidate, Mpumelelo Moyo, is being accused of unleashing goblins to attack his rival, Norman Hlabano.
Both Hlabano and Mpumelelo successfully filed nomination papers to contest for Bulawayo’s Ward 26 on the CCC ticket. Hlabano is reportedly aligned to Nelson Chamisa, while Mpumelelo is Welshman Ncube’s blue-eyed boy.
A source who spoke to this publication said that Hlabano was attacked by tokoloshes last week, when he was conducting door to door campaigns in Nketa. According to the source, Hlabano was in the company of his campaign team when he began to feel dizzy before collapsing.
“Last week, Hlabano was conducting a door to door campaign with his campaign team when he began to feel dizzy before collapsing. Froth was coming from the corners of his mouth and his eyes were rolling. The alert members quickly assisted him with traditional first aid, bute, and took him to a nearby car where successfully recovered. A spiritual healer who later attended to him revealed that Hlabano was attacked by goblins that were sent by Mpumelelo,” said the source.
The source said that Mpumelelo was resorting to the dark world after realising that he stood no chance against Hlabano in the forthcoming by elections.
The same source said that Chamisa was partly to blame for the chaos happening in Bulawayo because he failed to solve the issue of double candidates in Nketa, Ward 26.
According to the source, the issue of resorting to the dark world to gain an edge over political rivals has been a permanent feature within the opposition circles.
The source revealed that in 2017, the then MDC member, one Happison Ncube mysteriously died after he had defeated one Collet Ndlovu during primary elections for Bulawayo’s Cowdry Park, Ward 29.
According to the source, there is a group of five people within CCC who allegedly uses juju against other members. This group is comprised of Welshman Ncube, Colleta Ncube, Lilian Mlilo, Mpumelelo and James Sithole.
Efforts to get a comment from both Hlabano and Mpumelelo were futile as they were not answering their phones.
