The newly appointed MDC-T spokesperson, Dr Nkululeko Sibanda hailed the new dispensation led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, saying it had opened up the political space in Zimbabwe.
At a Press Conference recently held in Harare, Dr Sibanda said that President Mnangagwa`s administration was preaching unity which was never donein the previous dispensation.
He added that the emergence of the new dispensation had seen opposition political parties campaign at will across the country without any persecution.
Dr Sibanda claimed that he fled the country because of political persecution in 2002. He said he was motivated to come back home by the new dispensation which had shown signs of political tolerance. The former University of Zimbabwe student activist unwittingly exposed MDC T when he said that the party used students activist for violent protests.
When asked about his tweeter comment in which he rubbished his boss’ plans of introducing bullet trains, Dr Sibanda saidhe was not sure if Chamisa had the capabilities to do that. He added that Chamisa later convinced him.
The appointment of Dr Sibanda as the MDC T spokesperson has been met with resistance from MDC T members who say he is too soft and weak for that position.
